Murder at the Library – for teens (must have completed 6th grade)
Teens can work towards solving the library’s murder mystery through the summer. One lucky solver will win $100 at the final program – winner will be chosen randomly from all correct answers. Teens in the program will finally learn who did it, where, and with what weapon at this final party. We’ll have munchies and draw for the $100 grand prize (you don’t need to be present to win) and some smaller prizes. Even if you aren’t sure of your answer, please make your best guess and come to the party to have some fun with us.
Date TBA – time TBA – Adult Summer Reading Ending Party – for adults in program
This is an informal get-together for adults in the party to have a chance to talk about their reading goals, choose prizes, and have some yummy treats.
Every Tuesday from June 21-August 9 at noon – Lunch Bunch – for elementary age children
Kids can bring a lunch to the library and listen to a good book as they eat. We will read a continuing book through the summer – kids at the first session will get to vote on which book they want to hear. The library will provide cookies for “dessert”. We will draw for a free book at the end of each session.
Every Friday throughout the summer at 10:00 am – Storytime with Kate – for preschoolers
Lots of stories and fun plus treats after the reading time has finished. We will draw for a free book at each session during summer reading.
Weekly Guessing Jars – for all ages
Each week during summer reading, the library will fill a jar with small items (candy, erasers, etc). Patrons can guess how many items are in the jar – the closest guess will receive the contents.
Bookmark Contest – for preschool through teens
Our annual bookmark design contest – winners in each age category will win a free paperback book. The library distributes reproductions of winning bookmarks during the holiday season.
